Accounting Analyst

Your Mandate:

Reporting to the Chief of Accounting and Financial Information Services, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the activities of the accounting department and ensuring the integrity and quality of financial data.

Your Challenges:

  • Take charge of various activities during the monthly closing process;
  • Analyze various accounts to validate the completeness of recorded transactions;
  • Prepare month-end reports, account reconciliations, and balance sheet item analyses;
  • Provide solutions and recommendations on procedures and work methods to facilitate and optimize processes;
  • Contribute to the development of information systems and the automation of financial processes;
  • Develop and maintain documentation of accounting processes;
  • Participate in the annual audit process;
  • Undertake various special projects;
  • May have functional supervision of an employee;
  • Assist the Chief of Accounting and Financial Information Services and perform any other related tasks as requested.

Your Profile:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting;
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, including two (2) in a similar role;
  • Hold or be in the process of obtaining the CPA designation;
  • Have excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
  • Have knowledge of the SAGE accounting software (an asset);
  • Have knowledge of public sector accounting standards (an asset);
  • Be oriented towards continuous improvement and process optimization;
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Show a high level of initiative, autonomy, rigor, organization, and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork.
