Project Manager, Characterization and Environmental Rehabilitation (Quebec)

UDA Consulting Group Inc. (UDA) is looking for a project manager for its environmental assessment, characterization and rehabilitation department to complete its management team. UDA’s multidisciplinary team is made up of agricultural, forestry and geological engineers, agronomists, liaison officers with various backgrounds, biologists, agricultural drainage specialists, geographers, draftsmen (AutoCAD), geomatics and geographic information systems specialists, environmental monitoring specialists, agricultural and forestry technicians, wildlife technicians and administrative staff.

The position may be attached to our Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu or Quebec City offices. Telework is offered according to the candidate's needs.

PERMANENT - FULL TIME /PROFILE: $50,000 TO $95,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities related to the position

Reporting to the Senior Director, the project manager will be responsible for the management of various environmental assessment projects (Phases I, II and III), environmental remediation of contaminated sites and characterization of sediments, surface water and wastewater. More specifically:

  • Provide leadership to the department including the organization of weekly coordination and resource planning meetings;
  • Manage the staff under his supervision including, but not limited to: coaching, supervision and development of staff skills, annual performance management and development of individual development plans;
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic plan and business development according to the requests of the partners;
  • Plan, organize and control the different stages of environmental assessment projects (Phase I, II and III) and environmental remediation of contaminated sites;
  • Prepare tenders services;
  • Ensure the relationship with the client;
  • Ensure compliance with project deadlines;
  • Supervise technicians and subcontractors;
  • Compile data and write deliverables;
  • Monitor the project budget;
  • Approve supplier invoices and prepare project invoices;
  • Participate in the completion of site work;
  • Act as a technical expert in the environment in support of the company's various projects;
  • Work in collaboration with all company departments to carry out projects;
  • Promote and implement the health and safety prevention program for work.

Requirements and training

  • Bachelor's degree (BAC) in geology, geological engineering, environment or any other relevant discipline;
  • More than 5 years of experience in environmental assessment and characterization of sites (phases I and II) and in site rehabilitation;
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams;
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to communicate in French orally and in writing;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Possess a good knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations;
  • Autonomy, initiative and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
