Project Manager, Environmental Assessment and Impact Study

Groupe Conseil UDA is looking for a  project manager in environmental assessment and impact study  to complete its multidisciplinary team composed of agricultural, forestry and geological engineers, agronomists, biologists, geographers, geomatics specialists and specialized technicians. As a project manager, the person will be called upon to lead and carry out environmental and social impact studies, ministerial authorization applications and other environmental mandates. The projects target, among others, the energy, industrial and mining sectors.

The position can be attached to one of our offices (Quebec or Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu) or telework up to 100% of the time depending on the candidate's autonomy.

PERMANENT - FULL TIME / PROFILE: $80,000 TO $125,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Job Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the leadership of the department, including organizing weekly coordination and resource planning meetings;
  • Manage staff under his/her supervision, including but not limited to: coaching, supervising and developing staff skills, managing annual performance and developing individual development plans;
  • Plan, direct and monitor the completion of projects in accordance with UDA’s mandate and to the satisfaction of clients, the organization, team members and other stakeholders;
  • Manage and resolve technical, financial and human issues proactively and in a timely manner in order to limit potential deviations;
  • Carry out environmental and social impact studies;
  • Ensure the planning of all required work and the monitoring of mandates in progress (schedules and budgets);
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, approval authorities, project stakeholders and contractors;
  • Participate in the environmental permit and certificate of authorization application process;
  • Develop work-related protocols and estimate time and direct and indirect costs;
  • Plan and manage meetings both internally, with team members, and externally, with other stakeholders or subcontractors concerned;
  • Provide technical and regulatory expertise on projects;
  • Collaborate with all departments of the company to carry out projects;
  • Implementation of the occupational health and safety prevention program.

Requirements and training

  • Hold a university degree in environment;
  • Have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience;
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations;
  • Listen to the client's needs, enjoy taking on challenges, have initiative, have teamwork skills;
  • Leadership, initiative and interest in taking on challenges;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Previous experience in a consulting firm (important asset).
