WHAT WE DO
We are a small group of companies in the business of distributing brand name consumer and tech products throughout North America. We have been in business since 2008. We are a small team, hard working and family oriented. We are looking for an accountant with strong experience to join our team and take a leading role in structuring the financial processes and team. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Financial Accountant you’ll be primarily responsible for the maintenance and reliability of the company’s financial accounting records. Building on experience in cost and financial accounting, your main goal is to assure accurate financial reporting and continuous finance process optimization. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Lead the day-to-day management of accounting operations with a focus on efficient processes that support business needs, including purchasing/AP, reporting etc.
-Manage and review bookkeeping staff, currently externally provided.
-Responsible for timely and effective monthly close processes, including preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and posting journal entries, resulting in financial information with the highest levels of reliability and integrity.
-Manage relationships with external auditors for completion of the annual audits.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITY
-Prepare, analyze and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
-Coordinate with CPA, accounting firms for year-ends
-Streamlining accounting functions and operations
-Developing plans for financial growth
-Evaluating and managing risk
-Coordinating audit processes
-Participate in the annual budget and monthly forecasts
-Develop and maintain performance indicator reports (KPI)
-Manage cash flow
-Gov't reporting and remittances, payroll, GST, QST
-Tax planning
-All other related tasks

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
-Min three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in accounting
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance required (or equivalent experience)
-CPA designation an asset, but strong technical accounting skills backed by experience will be considered

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
-Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, specifically with Microsoft Excel (Pivot(GL/Close, AP, Consolidations),
-Bilingual – French and English
-Ability to communicate effectively in English, French (written and spoken) is required for communicating with third party contractors across North America and reporting
