HACCP/CanadaGap Coordinator - Part Time 3 Days/Week

As a leading importer and distributor of fruits and vegetables in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes, Canadawide is currently looking for a HACCPC/CanadaGap Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

· Continuously monitor and maintain the success of our HACCP system.

· Maintain and update SOP, GMP, HACCP, Prerequisite, and sanitation programs as required

· Develop and write SOP's and policies for areas of responsibility to optimize quality, sanitation, and operational effectiveness as it pertains to product quality

· Ensure all personnel are trained effectively to achieve exemplary results in GMP and HACCP programs and food safety

· Conduct internal audits of the facility's HACCP system. Develop and implement corrective actions based on the audit results

· Lead the verification of HACCP and GMP programs for compliance, including conducting mock recalls

· Work closely with departmental supervisors in assessing the effectiveness of the sanitation program based on results collected and reported in the weekly reports

· Work closely with the Continuous Improvement / Quality Manager and departmental supervisors on special projects that will improve existing production & quality processes

· Complete supplier audits as required

· Perform CCP verifications and validation

· Perform environmental swabbing

· Perform sampling of finished products for micro and analytical analysis

· Maintain and complete accurate records related to GMP and HACCP activities and file Daily reports; raise issues based on the data collected with the Continuous Improvement/ Quality Manager

· Perform other duties/functions assigned or required

Qualifications
Post-secondary education preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or related field

  • Minimum 2 years of food related quality experience in a food environment
  • Proven ability to manage and influence others
  • Possesses a very solid knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques and procedures and
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with computers, windows, Excel
