USER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the director of the information technology service, the user support technician provides technical support to various users in addition to monitoring the inventory of equipment, software and user licenses held by the City. He or she also participates in the configuration and installation of computer equipment in collaboration with members of the department.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
- Respond to requests for assistance related to information technologies sent by users of the City and external partners, taking care to document them, validate the need, confirm their priority and to carry out appropriate follow-up using the request management software and procedures made available;
- Proceed to resolve problems related to the operation of certain software, applications, operating systems and IT tools such as laptops, printers, tablets, cell phones, etc.;
- Configure and install workstations, printers, audiovisual equipment and peripherals for City users and replace them when required;
- Provide technical support and configuration related to the IP telephony and cellular system;
- Ensure the management of user accounts from creation to deletion, manage rights and assign licenses;
- Participate in maintaining the inventory of IT equipment and licenses;
- Participate in the development and evaluation of new equipment configurations and models before making them available;
- Enter orders from suppliers and monitor them in order to process user requests and maintain an appropriate inventory level;
- Communicate and follow up with external suppliers in accordance with service contracts and agreements in force;
- Escalate requests to infrastructure and network technicians, division managers or the director when required;
- Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures applicable to the City of Drummondville, in particular the Policy on the Use of Technological Resources, and, where applicable, notify your immediate superior of any abnormal situation;
- Collaborate with infrastructure and network technicians in tasks with shared responsibilities in order to achieve the department's objectives.
- Perform any other related task required by his superior.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in computer science or a related discipline;
- Cumulate three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience;
- Master the management of Windows environments and the latest generation M365 suite;
- Demonstrate skills in teaching and transferring knowledge about software to users;
- Master the French language both orally and in writing;
- Demonstrate availability, discretion and a great capacity for adaptation;
- Demonstrate a marked interest in teamwork and the quality of the services offered (customer service);
- Demonstrate good work methodology, excellent organization, initiative and autonomy at work.
SALARY AND CLASSIFICATION
According to the collective agreement for white-collar municipal employees:
- Salary classification 460;
- Hiring between $26.83/h and $30.77/h, depending on experience and established recognition criteria;
- Salary scale increasing up to $32.74/hour;
- Work schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
- Stable employment all year round;
