Certified maintenance worker

Job Description

The Vanguard School is looking for a Certified Maintenance Worker. Reporting to the Material Resources Services Coordinator, the Certified Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintenance, repair and alteration work in several building trades.

Tasks

  • Perform more or less complex carpentry work (assembly, veneering, gluing, restoration) on surfaces, equipment and furnishings;
  • Perform plastering work, repair and install various insulation, covering and waterproofing materials inside and on the roofs of buildings;
  • Perform work involving the renovation and repair of works made of brick, stone, ceramic, cement or glass blocks or other materials or substances of the same type:
  • Perform certain more or less complex repair work on sanitary installations;
  • Perform maintenance work on simple mechanical installations;
  • Maintain plumbing and heating systems, ventilation and air conditioning systems, security systems, maintain fire protection systems and electrical systems ;
  • Handle, transport, maintain, adjust and set appropriate machinery, tools, equipment and materials;
  • Care for preventive and safety maintenance of premises and equipment;
  • As needed, perform any other related task.

Required profile

  • DEP in general building maintenance or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant;
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Good manual skills and dexterity;
  • Concern for the quality of work;
  • Ability to work alone or in a small team;
  • Sense of priorities ;
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy to be able to solve certain problems alone.

Salary offered

$27.92 per hour + 15% prime
