Sprinkler Fitter

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our dedicated team in the fire protection industry. This role involves performing maintenance, service, and repairs on hydrants, fire pumps, and sprinkler systems, along with comprehensive testing and inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of our clients across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, service, and repairs on hydrants, fire pumps, and sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, including:
  • Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual inspections.
  • Fire Department Connection (FDC) tests and 5-year internal assessments.
  • Produce comprehensive inspection reports and clear, complete, and detailed service reports on the same day of any job attended.
  • Deliver efficient, high-quality, and detailed work, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be available for on-call service as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire protection or related industry.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in testing and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Conscientious worker always looking to improve.

Duties

  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and assembly procedures.
  • Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments, including calipers, to accurately fit components together.
  • Assemble HVAC units and related mechanical systems, ensuring all parts are securely fitted and aligned.
  • Perform welding tasks as required to join metal components effectively.
  • Conduct routine inspections of assembled products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues during the fitting process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical documents.
  • Experience with HVAC systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment is a plus.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during assembly tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $34.00-$44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • pipefitting: 1 year (preferred)
