Assistant Buyer

We currently have a recruitment mandate for an Assistant Buyer in Quebec City, for a permanent full-time position.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Assistant Buyer

The buyer is responsible for the procurement, price negotiation and coordination of deliveries of materials required for construction sites. He works closely with project managers, foremen, superintendents, the main buyer and the procurement team. The supplies for which he is responsible include municipal products, concrete materials, insulation, geotextiles, geomembranes and signaling equipment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Inspect product deliveries on site, in collaboration with foremen and superintendents.
  • Check for discrepancies between deliveries and purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers for adjustments.
  • Manage out-of-stock products and coordinate missing deliveries within the required timeframes.
  • Respond to supply requests via an internal application.
  • Select suppliers, negotiate prices and submit final offers for approval.
  • Monitor inventories and organize stock rotation to avoid surpluses.
  • Ensure product compliance, invoice verification and management. supplier credits.
  • Negotiate payment terms and discounts with suppliers.

Condition:

  • Salary between 55k to 75k
  • 40h / week schedule
  • 4 weeks of vacation
  • Progressive retirement plan of up to 3%

Requirements:

  • DEC / BAC in Supply Management or similar study
  • More than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
