Welder

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
• Examine welds to ensure they meet established standards and specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Utilize oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
• Determine the weldability of various materials

Welding Techniques:

• Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

Specialized Equipment:

• Mining equipment
• Cutting machines

Area of Specialization:

• Custom fabrication

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• High attention to detail
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Personal Qualities:

• Highly organized
• Strong team player

Hours:

• 40 hours per week

Education:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:

• 1 year to less than 2 years
