CONVENTIONAL MACHINIST – DIESEL ENGINE BLOCKS
Job Summary:
- Prepare, adjust, and operate conventional machine tools for machining diesel engine blocks;
- Carry out boring, facing, and reboring of cylinders according to required tolerances;
- Check the dimensions of machined parts with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial gauges, etc.);
- Read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications;
- Carry out diagnostics of components to be machined, repairs, and machining work on components;
- Research technical specifications;
- Disassemble and assemble components of part;
- Calibrate tools;
- Perform basic machine maintenance and report any anomalies;
- Comply with quality and safety standards in the workshop.
Requirements and desired profile:
Level of education:Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining technology.
Job-related experience:Have at least five (5) years of full-time experience in similar roles.
Required profile:
- Experience in machining heavy and complex parts, ideally on engine blocks;
- Excellent judgment, autonomy, and professionalism;
- Be able to Comfortable with conventional machining;
- Problem solving;
- Good time and priority management skills, and adherence to deadlines;
- Good dexterity to adjust and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
Working Conditions:
Salary offered: $30.00/hour and up depending on experience;
