CONVENTIONAL MACHINIST – DIESEL ENGINE BLOCKS

Job Summary:

  • Prepare, adjust, and operate conventional machine tools for machining diesel engine blocks;
  • Perform boring, facing, and reboring of cylinders according to required tolerances;
  • Verify the dimensions of machined parts with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial gauges, etc.);
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications;
  • Perform diagnostics of components to be machined, repairs, and machining work on components;
  • Research technical specifications;
  • Disassemble and assemble part components;
  • Calibrate tools;
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and report any anomaly;
  • Comply with quality and safety standards in the workshop.

Requirements and desired profile:

Level of education:Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining technology.

Job-related experience:Have at least five (5) years of full-time experience in similar roles.

Required profile:

  • Experience in machining heavy and complex parts, ideally on engine blocks;
  • Excellent judgment, autonomy, and professionalism;
  • Comfortable with conventional machining;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Good time management skills and priorities, meeting deadlines;
  • Good dexterity to adjust and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.

Salary offered: Starting at $30.00/hour, depending on experience;
