Carpenter

We are currently looking for an experienced carpenter (3rd-year apprentice or journeyman level) to join our team. For us, this is much more than just a position to fill. It's about finding our future colleague who will help us succeed in our residential and commercial renovation projects. A variety of work, both within and outside of the statutory framework. A key role within a professional, human-scale team

Responsible for carrying out assigned tasks on construction sites, according to the standards discussed with the team leader.

Main responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and sketches to determine construction or technical specifications.
  • Know and understand the specific work steps for each site.
  • Prepare layouts, using measuring tools, according to plans and specifications or the instructions of the team leader or project manager (taking into account building code requirements).
  • Use and handle power and hand tools inherent to the required tasks, while learning the techniques of Safety.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble carpentry elements made of wood, particleboard, light steel, or other materials.
  • Install framing elements (such as beams, columns, joists, trusses, stud wall framing, flooring supports, ceiling cladding supports, pre-assembled framing and roofing elements)
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
  • Adjust and install carpentry elements (such as interior doors, moldings, shelves, storage units, wall coverings, wood stairs, wood floors, and hardware). etc.).
  • Install built-in furniture (such as countertops, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, etc.).
  • Supervise the work of apprentices and day laborers, if applicable.
  • Install and repair various types of exterior siding.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on construction sites at all times.

The profile sought

  • Hold a journeyman carpenter card or an apprentice card.
  • Knowledge and understanding of reading architectural and engineering plans.
  • Excellent organizational skills and good priority management.
  • Highly autonomous.
  • Capable to teach work methods and share knowledge.
  • Rigor in meeting deadlines.
  • Meticulous, attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills, collaborative spirit, and teamwork aptitude.
