DENTAL ASSISTANT

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform professional teeth cleanings, including scaling and polishing.
Perform visual examinations of the oral cavity to detect dental health problems.
Take dental x-rays and interpret the results.
Evaluate the oral health status of patients and recommend appropriate treatments.
Apply fluoride agents and dental sealants to prevent cavities.
Perform subgingival scaling treatments to treat gum problems.
Educate patients on good oral hygiene practices and dietary advice.
Collaborate with the dentist and dental team to provide quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Dental hygienist diploma from an accredited school.
In-depth knowledge of oral anatomy and dental diseases.
Ability to take and interpret dental x-rays.
Mastery of dental cleaning, scaling and polishing techniques.
Good communication skills to interact with patients and provide them with appropriate advice.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a dental office.
Knowledge of hygiene and sterilization regulations and protocols.
Attention to detail and compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regular work schedule, generally full-time.
Possibility of working certain evenings or weekends depending on the needs of the dental office.
