Industrial mechanic

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic for our plant located in Lachine. Hourly wage between $32.00 and $38.00 depending on experience.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair components and systems such as motors, drives, bearings, gears, clutches, couplings, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Identify problems and determine the root causes of equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform basic welding and machining tasks.
  • Participate in all site safety programs and support all company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests (after hours and weekends, if necessary).
  • Utilize vendor support to learn proper cleaning and maintenance practices. equipment.
  • Control the chemical composition of the pretreatment bath and adjust it according to the work instructions of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete maintenance records and maintain logbooks and databases as required.
  • Control plant tools, manuals, spare parts, assemblies, and consumables.
  • Research equipment manuals and request replacement parts. Identify and assist in sourcing and purchasing parts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare and consumable parts for equipment.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, using fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role and/or industry with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • General knowledge and understanding of the following equipment:
    • Overhead cranes (components)
    • Forklifts
    • Pumps, motors, and fans
    • Equipment Hydraulic Lifting
    • Furnaces, Boilers, and Heat Exchangers
    • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Relay Installation
  • Welding Experience (TIG/MIG)
  • General Plumbing Knowledge
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • The designation of Millwright or An electrician's degree is an asset.

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma combined with equivalent professional experience and training, including licenses/certificates in one or more related trade disciplines.

Languages: French and English: Spoken and written

Availability:

  • The candidate must be able to respond to emergency maintenance requests (after hours and weekends, if applicable)
