We are currently seeking a Mechanical Assistant for our facility located in Lachine. The hourly wage will be between $28.00 and $32.00 depending on experience.
General Responsibilities:
- Control the chemical composition of pretreatment baths
- Collect and analyze samples from pretreatment baths.
- Determine the chemical additions to the tanks to balance the doses according to the operational parameters established by the technical department.
- Keep records and collect data on chemical additions.
- Plan and organize the replacement and refill of cleaning fluids. Pretreatment.
- Perform other general maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Inventory Control
- Perform physical inventories (weekly, monthly) according to a pre-established schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of receipts and consumption of raw materials and alloys.
- Receive materials for production.
- General Mechanical Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment (as required).
- Complete maintenance records and maintain logbooks and databases, as required.
- Maintain Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables for equipment.
- Welds (MIG) small parts.
- Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, using fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks.
- Prioritizes health and safety when performing job duties.
- Participates in all site safety programs and supports all company policies and procedures.
- Facility Maintenance
- Performs tasks related to general plant maintenance and cleanliness.
- Adheres to schedules maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role and/or industry with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Ability to multitask at a fast pace.
- Work in a team.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Positive and professional attitude under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergencies.
- Proven punctuality and reliability.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent ability to concentrate.
- Be versatile and resourceful with minimal supervision.
- Ability to drive. a forklift.
Education:
- Minimum high school diploma, combined with equivalent professional experience and training.
Languages
- Spoken and written French and English are an asset.
Team Availability:
- The candidate must be able to respond to emergency maintenance requests (outside office hours and weekends, if applicable).
