For over 50 years, Construction Gély has been actively involved in the development of the Great North and the vitality of the communities where the company is located. Our team has successfully completed unique projects such as:

  • A school in Taloyoak;
  • An aircraft hangar in Iqaluit;
  • A waste transfer station in Iqaluit;
  • And much more!

Our estimating and project management department is made up of over 20 professionals who combine their expertise and ingenuity to meet the challenges of construction in the Arctic. In full growth, Construction Gély is looking to join new members to the team and wishes to welcome a qualified estimator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the General Manager, the estimator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze tender documents;
  • Proceed with invitations to tender;
  • Estimate the costs of materials, labor and equipment required for each project;
  • Validate the availability of resources available in the community or workplace concerned;
  • Analyze bid results and suggest optimizations to improve the company's competitiveness;
  • Collaborate with project managers for various tasks;
  • Participate in project estimation in “design build”.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • E.C. in building estimation and evaluation (construction estimation), architecture or any other combination of training and experience related to the position;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building estimation of at least $10M;
  • Advanced English (spoken and written).

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Curiosity and keen interest in everything related to innovations in both materials and construction methods;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of personnel;
  • Able to manage multiple files simultaneously while respecting tight deadlines;
  • A keen sense of organization and planning;
  • Attention to detail, rigor and a developed analytical mind.
