Accounting Technician — Accounts Payable and Receivable

Your Role

You will manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier payments, in accordance with established procedures and internal control policies.

Your Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Review and match supplier invoices against purchase orders, agreements and goods received.
• Code and enter invoices into Acomba.
• Prepare cheques and electronic fund transfers according to payment terms.
• Review supplier statements.

Accounts Receivable

• Record customer payments and prepare bank deposits.
• Set up new customer accounts and process credit applications.
• Follow up with customers on outstanding balances and payment arrangements.

Month-End

• Participate in month-end closing: bank reconciliations, journal entries and analysis of selected general ledger accounts.
• Prepare various reports and assist with physical inventory counts.

Your Profile

• Degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 4 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable.
• Good understanding of the month-end closing process.
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Acomba is an asset.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Analytical mindset and ability to work as part of a team in an evolving environment.
• Fluency in French and good spoken and written English: most of our suppliers are English-speaking, requiring daily communication in English.
