Agricultural Biomethanization Process Engineer

Process Engineer position in agricultural biomethanization. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting feasibility and detailed studies for projects in Quebec.

Job Description

Conducting Feasibility Studies

  • Preparing PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Sizing of equipment (required volumes, number of crushers, agitators)
  • Using Naskeo's general calculation file to size a biomethanization site.
  • Writing of studies.

Detailed Design

  • Preparing calculation notes (pressure losses, piping sizing, desulfurization). Sizing tools are available at Naskeo.
  • Drafting of 2D plans (mass, sections, details using AutoCAD LT) and P&IDs for signature and sealing.
  • Creation of 3D models (AutoCAD Plant 3D).
  • Preparation of network and electrical architectures.
  • Preparation of bills of materials (piping line lists, motor lists, control panel input/output lists).
  • Preparation of quotes for the construction of process facilities.

Consultation with process equipment suppliers

  • Drafting of technical specifications.
  • Price negotiations for the following purchases: Pumps, crushers, gasometers, presses, screw conveyors, hoppers, agitators, heat exchangers, valves, instruments, control panels Control.

Site Monitoring

  • Verification that the works are carried out in accordance with the issued plans.
  • Participation in site meetings.
  • Coordination of deliveries of equipment supplied by Naskeo.

Monitoring of unit commissioning

  • Coordination of electricians, mechanics, and commissioning technicians.
  • Validation of the performance of the biomethanization units.

Job Details

Work Location

  • Château Saint Ambroise 4030, rue Saint-Ambroise Montreal.

Teleworking

  • 1 or 2 days per week.

Compensation

  • Between $70k and $80k gross annually, depending on experience.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil, chemical, agri-food engineering, or a related field.
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • Technical degrees with relevant experience will also be considered.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the methanization process.
  • Skills in conducting studies Technical skills.

  • Basic knowledge of electricity/control systems in an industrial environment.
