Project Manager
Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Engineering, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing external or internal projects.
The mission of the Project Manager is to ensure the delivery of the various projects on time and on budget, according to the estimate, while ensuring a high level of quality. The management mandate includes taking charge of projects, being the main point of contact between clients and project resources, coordinating project tasks and deliverables, establishing timelines, monitoring progress and managing work in progress, until the completion and closure of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects by coordinating activities, deliverables, deadlines and project resources, with the department team and with other departments of the company as well as with the account manager;
- Perform work in progress management in order to provide administrative and financial information for project cost management (Budgets, Forecasts, Cash Flow);
- Communicate with clients for the coordination and monitoring of activities, problem solving, to ensure the smooth running of the project;
- Coordinate the work of external consultants and multidisciplinary internal resources in a matrix organization structure of resources;
- Organize, prioritize and monitor activities for various simultaneous projects;
- Build, update and archive project documentation;
- Identify and manage project risks that may affect project schedules, budgets/forecasts and quality in order to implement effective resolution strategies;
- Escalate issues that cannot be resolved by the project team;
- Communicate to the department director and account director the level of progress, risks, delivery dates and management of current and projected costs and project statuses on a regular basis;
- Support the sales team, guide the project team and ensure the quality of deliverables;
- Develop, implement or improve standard documents and processes project management;
- Identify and support opportunities for improving quality, productivity or safety in the execution of projects.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- BAC in engineering, administration, or project management or training deemed equivalent combined with relevant experience;
- More than 8 years of experience as a project manager;
- Great ability to withstand stress
- Perfect knowledge of French;
- Advanced English, given the nature of the position, project management with our clients located in the United States and English Canada.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project). Knowledge of Wrike is an asset;
- Available to travel outside the metropolitan area on occasion.
Excellent communicator, able to work in a team, rigorous and concerned with quality. He or she understands organizational issues and demonstrates the ability to make decisions in complex situations (budgetary issues, resources, etc.), to work with tight deadlines and to handle several files at once.
